A journal of my crazy desire to complete one craft or creative project every day for one year.

Projects 152-169 - Card and Gnome Tags
Yes, that's right - Gnome tags. Not to be mistaken with Name Tags. Because names are for humans and Gnomes are for Gnomes... yeah.. okay.
Ahem.
I'm really trying to get caught up as soon as possible because you never know when Murphy is going to throw you another curve ball! That said, there are a couple of projects that I have on the go that I really wanted to put some extra effort into. For example, the card I designed for my mom for Mother's Day took me over 2 hours to make today, as opposed to the regular 20-30 minutes I usually spend on a card. What can I say, she's my mom!
So here's the round up:
152- Cuba 2011 Scrapbook Page - finally got the pictures developed!
153 - Glorious and Free Card - this is for a contest - not sure if I have a shot or not!
154 - Bright Mother's Day Card - for my eventually to be mother-in-law
155 - Pink Butterfly Mother's Day card - for my grandma - she loves pink!
156 - Four-sided Mother's Day card - yup. This is the one that took 2+ hours! (Photo of page one is above)
157 - Butterfly Bliss Card
158 - Olive Elegance Birthday Card - for a special someone turning 70!
159 - Little Elephant Baby Card - for my next swap - I need to make 12 more of these!
And now for the Gnome Tags! I decided since each of my Gnome creations from last week have their own personality, they needed a Gnome Tag! Each creature has his name embossed on the card, and a phrase that he or she has been known to utter on occasion. You kind of have to say the phrases with a bit of a Russian accent - Gnomes don't speak English very well, you know!
So here is each Gnome and the phrase that appears on their tag:
160 - Gnome Tag - Edward - "My 'stache... is Legend!"
161 - Gnome Tag - Pierre - "Poke my tummy... Dare you!"
162 - Gnome Tag - Celeste - "I'm a sweet and innocent flower!"
163 - Gnome Tag - Jacques - "Have smile, will travel!"
164 - Gnome Tag - Sunshine - "I no get lost in dark!"
165 - Gnome Tag - Whitey - "I lead, you follow - yes?"
166 - Gnome Tag - Fred - "Name? Bah! Hat is better!"
167 - Gnome Tag - Doris - "Mess with me, I whap you with spoon!"
168 - Gnome Tag - George - "Trust me... I have square beard!"
169 - Gnome Tag - Mary - "You want hug? Come!"
Aww, ain't they cute?
All photos are on flickr (or will be when they finish uploading...)

Projects 136-151: Gnome Invasion!
It's greater than the British invasion... it's just smaller...
Got to play with clay today, something I haven't done in a while, and I certainly upped my game! I created a bunch of 3- dimensional gnomes today- my first real 3D projects to date in this media. I also made a few cards this week... see details below!
136 - Bliss Anniversary Card
137 - Martha's Birthday Card (gorgeous new paper!)
Projects 138-141 were a personal challenge of mine - I wanted to see if I could make four different Easter Cards using the same stamp set, and limiting the number of punches, etc.... just to show new crafters that you don't need a lot of stuff to get going. I think they turned out rather well!
138 - Hoppy Easter Card - Green & Pink
139 - Hoppy Easter Card - Blue & Pink
140 - Hoppy Easter Card - Peek-a-Boo!
141 - Pink Easter Card
And then the Gnomes invaded! I'm making one of these each for my friends for their birthdays this year. I'll make them in batches 'cause its easier (and then you readers have to guess which one is yours! Ha!) They're so cute, that I had to name them all, and give them personalities! (I so need to have kids...)
142 - "Jacques" - He's a quite guy... but the room lights up when he smiles
143 - "Sunshine" - The only gnome to wear a yellow shirt - he never gets lost!
144 - "Whitey" - That's not his real name, but since he's the boss, you call him what he wants to hear!
145 - "Pierre" - Roly Poly and tons of fun!
146 - "Fred" - He makes up for his rather boring name by always having a joke on hand!
147 - "Doris" - She's a bit bossy, but you always want her on your team!
148 - "Edward" - The 'stache with attitude!
149 - "Celeste" - The sweet one of the group - she gets a lot of flowers!
150 - "George" - He's a little square, but he always knows what to do!
151 - "Mary" - She's quiet, but quick with a hug when you need it!
A few more projects are on the go - hopefully will be able to post more later this week.
Don't forget to check out my flickr account for all the pictures!

Projects 128-135: Card Crazy!
Wow - two posts in one week - are you proud?
Truth is, after I updated this blog with all of the projects I have completed lately, I realized just how far behind my goal I am... like about 100 projects... zoinks!
There is still plenty of time to catch up and complete my goal, so to that end I spent the last day of my vacation fitting in a bunch of card making for upcoming birthdays, etc. Frankly, not too shabby a way of spending your last day away from work!
Anyway, here's the low-down on the newly minted projects I finished yesterday:
128 - Choo Choo Birthday card - I've been dying to make this card for ages!!! I just needed a little boy to have a birthday, and one is about to!
129 - Spring Birthday card - bright colours, simply made, but lovely!
130 - Blue Stripe Birthday card - a new masculine design I came up with - I actually like this one!
131 - Orange and Green Accent Birthday Card - For a male friend with a bright personality!
132 - Perfect Purple Birthday Card - I call this one perfect because it uses my favourite designer paper in my favourite colour - Rich Razzleberry! (It's also a fun colour to say!)
133 - Blue Birthday Wishes Card - Blue in colour only! I picked this paper specifically for my friend who adores blue!
134 - Occasions Scrapbook Insert - you know that spot on the front cover of your scrapbook where you're supposed to insert a photo? I thought something that told you what was in the book was a better idea, so I designed a photo-sized insert to put in there instead using my stamping company's software.
135 - So sorry Card - Even though this is a sympathy card for a good friend's lost pet, I really love how this one turned out!
Well, lots more to do to get caught up!
Catch you on the flip-side.
